    Self-Care Sunday: The Weekend Essentials

Welcome to “Self-Care Sunday” volume 02. Weekend are always the best time to unwind and have a good rest before the hectic weekdays cycle attack. I personally have my own “self-care” routine set up from Saturday noon until Sunday since I have to work half day on Saturday. My self-care sessions are dedicated on the weekends where I did not have any plan with family, B or friends. I love to switch things up from time to time. Today I’m going to share my self-care essentials for my stress-free slash unwind sessions.

I’m not sure about you but I love the feeling that I got when I’m inside a clean room. The bed is tidy up. The trashes taken out. The succulents are fresh and watered. Piles of clothes are being fold neatly. Make up on vanity table are arrange properly. This makes my inner domestic goddess squeal in happiness. I believe that a clean room create a clear mind.

Apart from having a clean and tidy room, I also love to turn on my air diffuser which I have mix with few drop of essential oils. My favorite essential oils are Sakura and Eucalyptus which always help with my sinus problem. Not only it bring tons of benefit to the body but it also make the room smell nicer.

Weekend(s) are usually the time that I try to lay off from my phone and read an actual book instead. Now that I finally lifted off my buying an actual books ban, I already have few books line up in my TBR list. As much as I love my eBooks, it does cost me an increase in my spectacles degree and astigmatism. Thus, I have decided to slowly switch back to read an actual books and spending less time straining my eyes.

Other than reading books, I also like to unwind by listening to my favorite Spotify or Podcasts. I love to listen to music or podcast while cleaning or folding my endless laundry. My favorite playlist is filled with all my favorite song and some of B’s as well. As for Podcast, I always enjoy Optimal Living Daily and so much more that help my mental health and minimalist lifestyle.

Toward the end of weekend, I love to spend a good hour by pampering myself. I love to lit the candle and put a face mask to pamper my skin. Other than that, I will spend more time taking a long shower, waxing the unwanted hairs so that I can feel how smooth my skin are when I lathered the body lotion later on. Its also boost my confidence a little better.

All in all, eventhough it’s just a simple things or routine, I always feel happy when I spend time to do something for myself. I feel better when I don’t need to rush things up and I can enjoy the slow pace of weekend. Little things or self-care routine goes along the way and please do not be afraid to take some time off for yourselves. You will definitely see a different in your mental health and life perspective.

Don’t be afraid to love yourselves, xo
