According to my blog post schedule, I was supposed to blog about my recent book read. However, since I haven’t finish it yet, I have to post another topic for this week. Soz. Hashtag busy life, not. Hence, after tons of rolling on the bed thinking what to post while curing my hangover, today I’m going to share about my daily skincare routine.
Depend on how heavy I had applied my make up on that particular day, I will always make sure to cleanse my face before sleep. If I had my full face make up i.e waterproof eyeliner, mascara etc, I will start by using either make up remover wipes or the good o’ Olive oil before using my cleanser. On a normal days where I did not go full “waterproof”, my cleanser did a great job at removing my make up. I’m currently using the Vitamin E Gentle Facial Wash by The Body Shop.
What I really love the most about this cleanser is that it did not dry up my skin after cleansing. Some cleansers tend to strip all the moisture from my skin and left an irritable dry face. This cause my face became a little bit reddish, sometime. Other than that, I also love the fragrance. It’s so subtle but calming at the same time.
When I was younger, I always skeptical about the importance of applying toner after cleanser. This is because I could not feel any different whatsoever. Though I finally change my mind when I was almost in my 30’s. Toner is important because it restore balance to our skin after vigorous cleansing skincare routine. Again, I’m currently using The Body Shop toner from their Vitamin E line. I freaking love this toner and I think it did a superb great job similar to my holy grail toner from La Soul Skincare except on a cheaper price.
03. Essense & Serum
Both essence and serum are the most recent addition to my skincare routine. I mostly use essence on day time while serum on the night time. Currently I’m using the famous La Soul BVE (Bright Vivid Essence) and V Lifting serum. I have been using both products since last year and I have truly enjoy the benefits from these products. It does make my skin look more glowing and healthy. Though both are in expensive price range, the products longevity are truly amazing as I have been using BVE for almost 4 months now and still have not yet half way through.
Moisturizer is the most important product in my skincare regime. If you have super dry and sensitive skins that tend to flake off then you will understand the “why”. I have separate moisturizer for my day and night time as I wanted my skin to achieve balance from both products. Recently I have been loving the Vitamin E Moisture Cream from again, The Body Shop (Vegan and cruelty free, hello I’m obviously obsessed). The cream itself is on a thicker side and I only need a little to cover my face and neck area. As for the night time, I prefer a much more thicker consistency than my day cream. I have been using La Soul sleeping mask ever since I had discovered about this amazing product. Yes, this is my holy grail product for night time moisturizer. I also did rave about the product in my previous “Product empties” post here.
By this time you probably wonder why I did not feature any eyes cream or spot treatment products in my skincare routine. It is because I did not use any eyes cream product or spot treatment at the moment. I know I should have started on the eyes cream by this age but so far I feel like I’m good without it. For future, I will definitely do some research and trial to get the best eyes cream or spot treatment to be added onto my skincare routine. All in all, I do hope you guys enjoy this quick write up about my daily skincare routine and please share yours as well.
