For the past 2 years, I have been diligently trying and adding serum into my skincare routine. The first serum I have tried is the Safi Rania years ago which stung my face and caused allergic reaction. Then, I tried the La Soul Serum which I have featured here. It’s good but too expensive. Early this year, I try the Body Shop Vit E which also caused allergic reaction to my skin. Surprisingly the only product from Body Shop that have reaction with my skin. With my Althea angels point, I have decided to buy and try the Natural Pacific: Fresh Herb Origin Serum.
Natural Pacific or other known as NACIFIC is a beauty brand from Korea. I bought this serum from Althea for RM79.00 (50ml). This serum was very popular back in the end of 2016 and 2017, so I thought I want to give it a try since everyone rave so much about it.
Make vitamin C your skin’s new best friend with the Fresh Herb Origin Serum! This best selling concentrate is packed with vitamins and antioxidants that work to diminish wrinkles, minimize pores, brighten dullness and treat troubles. Made with a bi-phase oil-essence formula, this product tingles ever-so-slightly on the skin, but this lessens as your skin’s condition improves. Best of all, it’s made without synthetic preservatives so it won’t irritate the skin. (source)
There are three key ingredients to this serum:
- Pasqueflower extract – Pasqueflower is a wild flower that is use commonly in beauty products. It helps to soothe irritations and purify the skin.
- Fruit based acid – There are many serum out there that use chemical based acid. However, Natural Pacific: Fresh Herb Serum is made with a combination of grape, orange, lemon, apple and line extracts. This is more gentle yet effectively get rid off dead skin cells.
- Korean pepper extract – This pepper is rich in vitamin C and tocopherol which act as protection with antioxidant properties.
How to use
After washing the face and apply toner, shake the bottle vigorously until the water and the oil are mixed well. Put a few drops on the palm (2 small drops is enough for me) and gently pat the serum onto the skin. Normally, I will wait until its absorbed before I apply moisturizer to lock in all the products.
Experience and Thoughts
Despite being called the “curse serum” or the “damn serum”, I did not experience any painful reaction upon my first application. Just a tiny discomfort or tingle around my nose area which is dry due to my flu and cold. I freaking love the fragrance. Its smell amazingly fresh and refreshing. At first I was skeptical about the oil because I have been full on eyelashes extension for a few months. It’s advisable to skip any oil-based skincare product to ensure the lashes longevity. So, I make it a habit to avoid eye area when applying this serum.
Surprisingly the oil absorbed very quickly onto my skin and it did not make my skin look oily. Its gave fresh and glowing appearance. I did not noticed any changes on my skin for the first week. Although, the second and the third week I started to notice how my skin has lighten. Some scars from my previous eczema and allergic breakout has started to fade. Even the freckles on my nose has lighten a little bit. As for pore, it is still humongous as ever. I guess no skincare product could fix that.
I love this serum. It help me to achieve a glowing skin and reduce the appearance of scars. Plus, its also suitable for sensitive and dry skin type. Even if it has oil, but it does not feel oily. Although be careful when you are layering your skincare products as too many “moisturizing” properties tend to be more oily toward the end of the day. Even though I really love this serum, I’m a little bit hesitant to repurchase. Its great, not bad – but I truly believe that I still need to find a really good serum that can help fix all my problems. Especially, minimizing my huge pores.
