I’m currently at the phase of my life where I kind of ‘dare’ enough to try something new. Which is also why I finally gave in and bought myself the most rave and hype products from the Ordinary skincare. The Ordinary is very well known for their acid-based product. People in the skincare community rave about how good and extremely affordable the products are.
In case you are wondering, I did not go crazy on the purchase because I’m skeptical either it will work on my skin. Plus, I’m not sure if my skin can tolerate acids well. Hence why I only bought two acid-based products. If you are interested to check out what items that I have bought and why, please keep reading.
The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
Niacinamide or also well known as the vitamin B3 can brighten and reduce the appearance of skin blemishes and congestion. While Zinc is a mineral that help control and balancing the sebum production.
I saw many great reviews about this products (and the Salacylic acid as well). However, since I’m struggling with skin congestion and darn huge pore, I have decided to go with this one. Plus, Erin from Oh, Erin Writes did a review on her first week impression and it seal the deal for me.
The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution
If you have never heard about Glycolic acid before, its actually an alpha hydroxy acid that exfoliate the skins. This product offer 7% toning solution for mild exfoliation which can promote a glowing and improve skin texture and appearance. The skincare community also mentioned that this product is a great dupe for the rather expensive Pixi Glow toner. People tend to go for the Ordinary either because of the cheaper price or the higher concentration of Glycolic acid. (Pixi glow has 5%, correct me if I’m wrong)
Anyway, an Instagram friend of mine @aavashe posted about her experience with this toner and I’m curious. I did ask her if it’s any good and she recommended it. This toner can only be used during PM skincare routine although I have read few reviews mentioning that they have use it during the AM as well. Also have tons of good reviews mentioning how glowing their skins are. I will be a good girl and only use this for my night routine and I will see if there’s any improvement or whatnot.
The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil
The last product that I have purchase is the Rose Hip Seed Oil. I have been neglecting oil as a part of my skincare regime. I used to incorporated Olive oil into my skin and they love it. So, I thought I give Rose Hip Seed oil a try. Its does claim to reduce signs of aging and improve skin condition. I’m pretty excited to try this Rose Hip Seed oil out.
