4 Things I Have Learnt From Netflix — “When We First Met”

Blessed with good internet connection and additional holiday, I have spent my day off by watching the latest Netflix Rom-Com (Romantic Comedy) Movie – “When We First Met”. Disclaimer: This post contain spoiler alert. Reader, please be advise. This movie was featured in their homepage and highly recommended for me to watch. So, I thought ‘why the heck not’. Plus, Adam Devine is the main character. #ohheckyeah

In all honesty, I truly enjoy the movie and I laugh, plus snort a lot too. Despite the numerous review saying how dull and predictable this movie are, there are moments where I can totally relate to certain situation and wishing I was able to do like Noah did – i.e. Travel through time to fix things that I wish I can fix in the past. Well, now tell me where I can find the magical photo-booth-time-travelling-machine? Anyone? Anyway, below are the 4 things that I have learnt from this romantic-comedy movie:

01 WHAT MEANT TO BE WILL ALWAYS FIND THEIR WAY TOGETHER

It’s funny that Noah, Avery, Ethan and Carrie life are revolve around each other and how a specific action or event changed their life. No matter if Noah finally able to get Avery’s attention and become the man that he wants to be but at the end, Ethan and Avery will always meant to be.

02 RELATIONSHIPS ARE ABOUT INTANGIBLE THINGS

Relationships are about intangible things. They’re about moments. The real moments and who you share them with. And the realest moments that I’ve had over the past three years have been with you. – Noah Ashby (When We First Met)”. This quote got me. Nowadays I feel like everyone is on a ‘competition’ to show off their relationship – offline nor online. However most of us forgot how to simply enjoy the solace moment together with our partner; without telling the world that we are hashtag relationship-goal. I always believe that the greatest moment in our life are those that did not made into Instagram or Facebook post(s); whatever it was.

03 EVERY ACTION OR DECISION WE HAVE MADE IN OUR LIFE/RELATIONSHIP HAVE CONSEQUENCES

This movie shown a great deal of action and their consequences. When Noah become an asshole, he become the future-asshole-Noah that didn’t get Avery even though they have spent countless of one-night stand together. Then, when he decided that he want to work hard to get Avery’s white picket fence – all American dreams, he lost is true best friend Max because he apparently backstabbed his friend for a job’s promotion. Later on, when he finally realized that Avery and Ethan are meant to be, only to know that he supposedly falls in love with Carrie instead. Unfortunately, it was too late as in the future, Carrie stuck with her previous ex. Thus, every action or decisions that we made will have its own consequences, either bad or good.

04 EVERYTHING HAPPENED FOR A REASON

As cliché as this sound, this Netflix movie made me strengthen my belief in the quote that say ‘Everything happened for a reason’. All the things that happened in our life, the un-requited love, the broken relationship and so much are meant to happened. It’s either to teach us lessons or its was one step closer to our own happiness.

HAVE YOU WATCH THE MOVIE IN NETFLIX YET? WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHT ABOUT IT?
