My Bullet Journal Essential

As promised, I’m finally back with another bullet journal post. I have decided to categorized this post under Lifestyle and Bullet Journal to ease up new reader. If you have missed my first Bullet Journal spread, you may read all about it here.

Currently, my March spread are almost filled due to busy schedule and I don’t want to miss out important events. I have also been enjoying the simplicity of planner without the need of any tracker. I did a tracker for 2019 but I’m failing badly. So, I don’t think I want to do it for monthly. It will be a waste of paper. Anyway, without further ado, lets get it on with my Bullet Journal essential.

On my earlier journaling days, I used my notebooks to write and I even bought yearly planner. Although, far too often will be half filled in and then left empty. My wish list journal is definitely the LEUCHTTURM1917 journal but knowing that it is too expensive here in Malaysia, I will settle with any dotted A4 journal with Ivory paper.

Currently I’m using the cheap-ass-but-good-quality journal that I have bought from Shopee. I like the quality of the journal as most of my fine-liner and my highlighter did not bleed onto the next page. More info about my current journal as below:

  • Cover Material: Leatherette
  • Closure: Elastic Band
  • Inner Page Material: 100gsm Ivory Wood – Free Paper
  • 96 Sheets
  • Inner Page: Dotted (The shop also has Grid one)
  • Size: A5 210 x 132mm
  • Feature: Inner Pocket (Where I keep all my sticker ehee)

I freaking love my stationery. Of course, I will hoard them at a time but I have learnt self-control now. Below are the stationery that I have been using and bought for my bullet journal.

Gel Pens

I love gel pens. Presently, I’m enjoying both Pilot G-Tec C4 in 0.4mm and Muji with erasable needle point pen in 0.4mm. Other than these two, I also have Muji Gel Pen in 0.5mm and Pilot G-2 in 0.5mm. Both my Muji pens are courtesy of B’s cousin, Elyas as souvenir from Japan. Thanks Yas! Usually for writing a rant or morning pages, I will use the Pilot G-2 as its has comfortable grip and the ink did not bleed as much as the Muji pen.

After reading tons of blog and watching Youtube’s video on the good recommended liner, I went with the famous Sakura Pigma Micron 03 and Faber Castell Ecco Pigment in 0.6mm.

Apart from the gel pens and fine-liners that I have mentioned above. Below are my other essential for bullet journal. Not necessary ‘a must’ but they are good to have if you are taking bullet journal seriously.

    • Calligraphy Brush – I’m using the Sakura Pigma Brush
    • Mid-liner or Highlighter – I’m using Zebra dual liner in Gray and Faber Castell Textliner 38 Pastel
    • Ruler – Small ruler (any ruler is fine)
    • Pencil – I’m using mechanical pencil from G’soft in 0.7mm
    • Eraser
    • Correction fluid (any brand will do, I’m using the one from Faster. Its cheap and get the job done)

All my bullet journal essential are pretty basic and it does helped me tremendously in my bullet journal journey. I like to check out new stationary for my bullet journal but at the same time I try to be conscious about my spending. Hence, I will always check out either Amanda Rach or Erin Azmir‘s recommendation for bullet journal before purchase.

Are you into bullet journal? If so, please share your #bujo essentials with me.

Your setup is so pretty! I love MUJi pens too because it makes my writing looks much prettier than usual lol.

I do bujo too but instead of writing in planner, I write it using an app on my iPad.

Thank you! I love Muji pens but I think I need to get a fine tip instead of 0.5mm.
Ah, may I know what kind of app you are using for bujo in your iPad?
